I would encourage you to change your mind. I'm familiar with the reasoning mentioned above because I've done my share of it. However, there is always something fresh for us when we study God's Word, and often we find much insight through the study of another student of God's Word.

I truly enjoyed the fresh insights Dr. Mohler provides in this book. I was particularly helped by his introductory material leading up to the actual phrase-by-phrase investigation of the prayer itself. Why did Jesus give us this particular model? What's the context? These prefatory chapters shed much light into the prayer itself for me because we generally study the prayer apart from its context. In fact, I was so enlightened by how the surrounding text of the Sermon on the Mount directs these verses, I launched our own church body into a study of the Lord's Prayer on Wednesday evenings!
