"Establishing the Law" Romans 3:31 We have been emphasizing the high value of the Law of God. There are two ways we establish the law during self examination:
1- God through self examination has called us a sinner, showed us our sin, and has again showed us Christ!
2- Going to confirm the law of God even further as we are righteous and justified in HIS righteousness. He is our justifier!
Both Jew and Gentile are indebted to Christ for their justification done in the only, one way...Christ!
Some make void the Law of God, but we confirm or establish the Law of God even into Eternity. It is established in our Lord Jesus Christ. God brings us to humility and to our abhorrence of sin as the Law is put in front of us as a mirror. This is very important: The degree to which we understand and see our sinfulness God will show us our forgiveness and the depth of Christ to us!!! God discovers our depth of sin our of the law of God! The Lord is clear when He speaks to us and the law discovers our sin driving us to Christ. It makes us see that we are establishing the law as we are justified in Christ who fulfilled that very law!
The fulfilling of that law is Christ's shed blood and His broken body as He established and fulfilled it. God, according to His law sends His Son and subjects Him to that law and condemns Him for us to fulfill the requirements of it, justifying us. And by faith we establish and confirm that law, putting a very high value on it! When we deal with the cross we deal with the judgment of God. Anathema. Atonement. Propitiatory sacrifice. And God maintains His Glory by the maintaining of the law as its requirement meets with His justice on the cross. Christ glorifies God and himself in the very keeping and fulfillment of that law! The glory of God and the pattern of our life which is our endeavor: The keeping of that Law of God!
The law is a glorious document. It speaks to us and shows to us the pouring out of Christ's blood and His broken body as He pressed it out of Christ His Son on the cross.....ALL FOR US to His Glory!
Being justified we sing "Oh how love I Thy law...it is my meditation day and night!"
