Pease is NOT discord, agitation, distress, being full of anxiety, or fearful of retribution in your life. When you're troubled you have no serenity, but anxiety. What fills the child of God's life with anxiety? Isaiah speaks about the COMORT of Jerusalem. Her warfare accomplished, iniquity covered, and receiving double for their pardoning! Their sins were covered. The very sin that brought them into captivity and condemnation had been covered not only (forgiveness,) but they received all the blessings that came with that forgiveness (double.) Liberty to the captives! Liberty to you and me as we have justification...being made right with God. Allowing us to say we are right with HIM!

Who of us, even as we are sinners, are afraid of God? We do not fear because we know they have been pardoned and who can lay anything against us? None as it is God that justifies AND condemns and who has wiped them all away. What is your comfort in living and dying and what distresses you? We can live and die KNOWING we ARE justified. Not in our works of the law, but as Abraham that had faith and believed. He believed in Christ and the cross. The reformation comes to mind. Scripture alone. The inherent Word of God that is so much done away with today. By faith along! Luther said if anyone would get to heaven by their monkery "it would be me." Yet, he had no peace except he found this verse! Justified by faith as it is the gift of God!

All of grace that God receives all the Glory. Objectively we are made right with God and made worthy of His blessings and inheritance being in the care of Him. And subjectively, we have peace as we are sure of our justification though we know we are grievous sinners....sinners who KNOW and have the faith to BELIEVE that God did it ALL! I have a peace that passes all understanding!
