Nations fight, conquer, and change borders always. I was looking at an old map that was made way back before my boyhood days, and it was surprising how the world has changed. Nations have been taken over by others and small ones have been swallowed up by mighty nations.

Even at the present time the world seems to be sitting on a power keg of danger, one that could erupt into a world wide crisis at any given hour. The storm clouds of war hang low overhead and man’s best effort to prevent war seems so inadequate. It’s been this way all my eighty-two years of life, with wars and rumors of war all the time. Men fight, die and get crippled, children go hungry, and wives sacrifice their husbands to war and violence. Sometimes war is necessary and we simply have to defend ourselves. In that case I say, fight as hard as you must and win! But some are so useless and we fight some unnecessary wars. Isaiah 57:20-21, “But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.”

As long as we are wicked we will not have any peace because peace comes from God who is our peace. Unless we confess and forsake our sins we will always be greedy, selfish, mean, and on the war path. Jesus has said, “My peace I give unto you.” There is little to no chance for wicked nations to stay out of one war right after another.

But you, my friend, can have the peace of God that passes all understanding by letting God save your soul and rule over all your life. Heaven is ahead for all saved people.
