Time and space would not permit me to say all that is on my heart about killing. I probably do not know half of what needs to be said on the subject, but here are a few simple thoughts I hope will cause all of us to think on this sin problem in America.

We who profess to be highly educated, civilized and sophisticated, have now the worst crime rate in history. The streets of any modern city are almost like a combat zone at night and pretty dangerous in the day time. People will kill for a very small amount of money and sometimes for no reason at all. We have a spiritual problem in America. When a nation starts trying to live without God, Satan moves in to fill the vacuum.

We have God’s commandment on the subject in Exodus 20:13, “Thou shalt not kill.” It has gotten to where now about all you hear on TV news is one killing right after another. Ungodly people are cutting, shooting, stabbing, doping, drinking, racing and wrecking, as police chase them from coast to coast. Sometimes the sinner kills himself, and often times he kills the cops. What a sinful shame!

We as a society almost seem to enjoy watching shows that have plenty of sex, crime, and wholesale killings. Why we enjoy killing shows, I’ll never know. Many Christian people just love to see shows where many people are killed, and bloodshed is shown to their young children. It is almost like training our kids to kill, in my opinion. Why not show them something godly or nothing at all?

Parents who have their beer in the refrigerator, cigarettes between their fingers, get drunk or use dope, are not modeling Christianity for the kids, the family and all who see them. Don’t be surprised if the child turns out to be lost and kills someone along the way. They need a Godly role model.
