The World's Greatest Love Story
The World’s Greatest Love Story Rev. A. J. Ogden
For centuries poets have tried to express God’s love for mankind, but after all
their efforts, they have not scratched the surface. Songs have been written about his marvelous, miraculous, boundless, unlimited love for you and me. But they always fall far short. Great orators, preachers, and laymen have struggled to find words that could fully express God’s great love for undeserving, lost humanity, but have always fallen short of their worthy goal. The limited vocabulary of mankind can never reach that goal because he is higher than our highest and sweeter than mankind’s sweetness.
We can only look at his word and marvel at his boundless, beautiful love for sinners such as you and me. The loveliest love story ever written is John 3:16, “For God so loved the world (all of us), that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life .”
It sounds too good to be true, but it is true that salvation in Jesus Christ is a gift for the guilty. It is not a reward for the righteous because Romans 3:10 tells us, “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one .” Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God .” God so loved you that he let Jesus die on the cross to suffer the Hell you deserved so you could enjoy the Heaven you do not deserve. What a Savior! If you do not quite understand it all, why don’t you call me any time, night or day, and let me pray with you about your soul’s salvation? Satan will try to hinder you. But don’t delay. Tomorrow could be too late.
