Spring is in the air and with it new life is springing up and bringing a freshness that encourages and lifts our spirit. Not only is this true with the season but at Mt. Zion Baptist Church also. Four visitors accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior on Easter Sunday which automatically brings new life to our church. We are refreshed and encouraged by knowing that new life in Christ is springing up in their hearts.
Happening Now
Spring brings revival as well. We will start our week of revival services with "Friend Day" on April 17 where we will invite our friends, family, and neighbors in to see what we are all about here at Mt. Zion with light refreshments following the morning service. Pastor Mike Allison will be preaching all week with the nightly services beginning at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, April 21 at 5:30 during the week of revival is a "Community Open House" where we will have tours, ministry spotlights, & a complimentary fried chicken meal. We are looking forward to a great week with fellowship, great food, and the Holy Spirit working in peoples’ lives.
Spring is always so exciting here at Mt. Zion. There is never a dull moment. Not only do we have revival coming up but Pete Heisey missionary to Romania will be updating us on the work being done there and a few Christians colleges will come in to present their schools. Our children’s ministry will be having their Pine Car Derby on April 30th and all the planning and preparations for our Mother/Daughter banquet on May 7th has begun. A prize will be given for the best western dressed girl there. In addition to these ministries we also have our regular ministries: Master Club, Teen Time, Operation Saturation (our soul-winning program), and Ambassadors (senior citizens), just to name a few, continuing to be busy serving the Lord.
A Look Ahead
June will be filled with preparations for camp. The theme is “The Ultimate CAMPaign Adventure” and the theme verse is Colossians 1:18“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
Vacation Bible School is big here at MZBC! Children come from all over the county and some from Maryland and Lancaster County too! The Lord has used this ministry to win both children and adults to Christ. It is a great week set apart to focus on explaining the Gospel to children that they may have eternal life. Matthew 19:14“But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
If you are looking for a church that is Bible believing and preaching, that is busy serving the Lord and seeking to win the lost to Christ, come and visit us at MZBC. Anytime is a good time to visit us however, the week of revival, Friend Day, and Community night are especially set aside for visitors.
