Nearly half of all COVID-related deaths directly tied to nursing homes: Report
The Times’s database collected data showing that coronavirus, or COVID-19, has infected more than 282,000 people at 12,000 facilities. Total deaths from such long-term facilities constitute roughly 43% of all COVID-19-related deaths, the paper reported.

Nursing homes constitute only 11% of all COVID-19 cases even though they account for nearly half of all deaths, data show.

More than 82% of the United States’ 15,500 nursing homes were cited for infection prevention and control deficiencies between 2013 and 2017, the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) wrote in a blog post in May. ...

B, I like your juxtaposition of two bibles. It's a pretty good description (not just for those across the pond).

Sister B, let me explain better what I am trying to say.

What if I could prove to you with incontrovertible evidence, that the numbers of deaths occurring since the C19 outbreak, were of such a higher figure than the average, that it would be necessary to say that there has to be a definite cause of those extra deaths.

Question: Do you believe I can do that?

If your answer is Yes, then what do you put those extra deaths above average down to?

If your answer is No, do you really believe that the Death Certificate System in place in the UK is being abused, and that there are people wandering about the UK whose deaths are recorded in Somerset House?

Three simple questions, sister. Then we will both know where we stand on this. Thank you.

Sister, I once went without a TV or radio for twenty years, and it was bliss. I didn't know what was going on outside of my remote village, and that suited me fine.

My recommendation for you is to go to Somerset House and do your research, using facts, to ascertain the numbers of deaths, and compare them with an average over twenty years. When you see a huge difference in the numbers of deaths beginning with C19 outbreak, you can then try to ascertain the cause of that big leap. I put it to you that the cause was an infectious disease, and that without lockdown and isolation, the numbers would have been even higher.

Watch carefully, as lockdown is eased back, and in places the numbers of infections and deaths begins to rise again. To me, that is proof positive. What is it saying to you?

John, the average believer in the UK holds to two infallible bibles, the traditional bible and the British Broadcast Corporation and co bible. To the later, they render faithful service *every day* by sitting themselves without a miss in front of their screens for at least half an hour of daily dutiful view-moulding. What they are told is law, it cannot be questioned.
So they hold to both bibles hand in hand, trying to square them, and if any is wrong is not the later.
Blind belief can err when acting as this. Hence, often people, being so well predisposed, miss the obvious, fail to question gaps, innacuracies, contradictions, and manupulative strategies.

Please, try a media fast, and stay away from the news screen for a month. You will be back with a different outlook.

While politicians and the media know they hold the people's unvariable attention through the screen, there is no limit to manipulation, because there is no alternative source of 'news'.

Sister, I would disagree. The speculations, sure, they are like projections, used often in business. So the actual figures I said may be inaccurate. However, deaths in the UK, as I have said many times, can be checked out at Somerset House, by any member of the public. And an investigation there would show that way above average figures of deaths in the UK since the outbreak of C19 were recorded. This cannot be gainsaid. Therefore, if the deaths were not due to C19, what then?

I would put it to you that the graphs shown on BBC every day were true not engineered. That the increase of deaths daily until they reached a peak of over a thousand every day, were due to the spread of C19, and that the peak was held at just over a thousand a day due to the lockdown measures and self-isolation, without which the graph would have increased and increased to an unknown figure.

BTW, the quote I posted was from a blog called 'The UK's Independent Fact Checking Charity'.

Good morning Sister B. Is this the sort of info you are looking for?
"The WHO estimates that between 290,000 and 650,000 respiratory deaths globally each year are associated with seasonal influenza."
When you consider that guvs all over the world are on a severe economic downturn because of their attempts to fight C19 through lockdowns and isolation etc. then the figure of over 500k deaths becomes meaningful. Imagine what that figure would have been if guvs had ignored the coronavirus. 500 million? A billion?

Just read that in the news this morning. I don't know if it's true or not. It may be a whole lot more.

Watchmanremo, it seems like there was a serious outbreak of covid-19 in a Sydney nursing home. It is a devilish virus and it attacks the elderly worldwide.
Scary, but.. in Sydney, the source was an infected worker that had continued working through flu symptoms. Even more scary was allegations of abuse and neglect of the elderly because of the restrictions on family visits.

Oh well, in the words of your fellow marxist in NY as he put infected peopler back in the nursing homes, "people die, you can't save them all."

Well, in our area , we had 1734 cases test positive just yesterday. The transmission areas came from 4 college based bars which exceeded capacity of 75% over a 3?week period. Bumkin frat boy went home to mama over Father’s Day weekend and left something more than his dirty clothes. My daughter has worked in a Covid ward since March so we’re pretty much not going to deny a correlation between the numbers of outbreak with the opening of bars. That information came from the mayor’s office.

Arizona Native, celebrating Independce while under lockdown. Interesting times. So, are people dropping like flies? Fear mongering is strong in my part of Texas. The cases are on the rise, so they say, yet only 1 death has been recorded and that was a 93year old woman. I feel for her family but this is not the boogeyman we were told. 1 out of 50k is hardly the reason to shut down an area.

Wayfarer, I respectfully disagree. The hospitals in my area of Texas are not overrun. Millennials aren't the only bar visitors. You're not likely to catch it at a bar anymore than you are at a grocery store. Open Texas up. People will catch it as they go out, naturally so. Case numbers will naturally rise (don't forget those numbers include ALL cases meaning a lot of those are recovered and old) but the death count hasn't and won't increase.

The bars opened up and the millennials caused a huge spike in Covid in Texas. Governor Abbott closed them as our hospitals are nearing capacity. He has asked Texans to stay at home other than work, and wear a mask when encountering people when going to grocery stores. We’re about to tip over. Should not have opened beyond 50%, and kept bars closed as people who party are always on someone else dime.

I would be surprised if somebody didn't have it relative or somebody they knew in a nursing home at one time or another. My mother even did volunteer work for our county nursing home when she was alive. They certainly weren't facility one wanted to go to before the virus, and now people well do anything I would think to avoid going to one of them ❗👎☣️

Yer fear causes death. No one in Sydney or anywhere else were allow to visit there mum or mom no one was allowed to give them a hug and kiss. Fear of unwant, fear will make you sick and some die. Fear or stress call it what you want its sin. Virus is fake..
