How many leapers turned and praised our Lord in response to His healing?
Seed gets sown, but not all falls on good soil.
That the Lord saves any of us is the biggest mystery to me. Why bother?
So if even a small percentage turn to the Lord through a recent purchase of a copy of His word, one can still say that His word has not returned to Him void but accomplished His purposes. And for those who will not turn, it may well be that the recent purchase will be another charge against them on that terrible coming day.
My grandmother gave all 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren a bible as birthday gifts. Less than half of the sum have gone to a church and at least 7 joined a cult ( Mormonism), and perhaps only 6 are practicing Christians. So out of 37 people 6 are practicing chchristians . So can lead a horse to water but you canâ€™t make them drink.
The number of the elect will not go up, no matter how much tribulation God sends on the earth. And worldly sorrow will always be a part of a man's makeup. The unregenerate will always seek a way to ease his pain, and if religion helps, he will engage with it.
But only the elect will turn in repentance to Jesus Christ, seeking forgiveness and a new life in HIM. cf. 2 Cor 5:17
