The online shift comes as many churches responded to a call from public health and other local and federal government officials to abandon physical gatherings to help stem the spread of the virus that has already infected nearly 4,000 people and killed 69 of them in the United States.
As of Monday morning, more than 169,000 people were infected globally and more than 6,500 of them have died, according to Johns Hopkins University.
President Trump announced on Twitter on Sunday morning that he had tuned in to the online worship service of Jentezen Franklin, senior pastor of the multi-campus Free Chapel Church in Gainesville, Georgia, who is also one of his evangelical advisers....

Wayfarer, we get a lot of mist in Wales, but very little revelation of the Son of God in our country.
However, every Monday, when our little group meets for fellowship, we always claim the promise of Jesus that he would be in our midst, and so wonderful is our time together that often we keep going for six hours or more. I have never known anything like it, and I only mention it for the encouragement of others who are somewhat isolated, that if you each have a Bible and a willingness to use your spiritual gift for the edification of the others, a Christian meeting can be most prosperous, so long as you have regular sustenance such as coffee and sandwiches.

Hopefully "worshipers move online" is temporary and does not catch on after the crisis is over. The admonition in Hebrews 10:25 still applies:
This is not the time to pull away and neglect meeting together, as some have formed the habit of doing, because we need each other! In fact, we should come together even more frequently, eager to encourage and urge each other onward as we anticipate that day dawning. (Heb 10:25)
