My teachings 'damaged a lot of people', says Benny Hinn
After turning his back on the prosperity gospel, Benny Hinn has admitted that his teachings "damaged a lot of people".
In a sit-down interview with Encounter TV, the televangelist said that he didn't want to be "known as the prosperity teacher" and that there was "gimmickry" involved in such teachings that "needs to stop".
Hinn surprised many in the Christian community when he told his followers during a recent live broadcast that the Holy Ghost was "fed up" with preachers promising blessings in exchange for donations, and that he was "correcting" his theology.
"I think it's an offence to the Lord, it's an offence to say give $1,000. I think it's an offence to the Holy Spirit to place a price on the Gospel," he said....

He’s spinning around on TV handing out high-fives when he should be doubled over in mourning and giving away his wealth. “For Benny Hinn to repent,” Justin went on to say, “he would need to empty his coffers, give every cent he has to good ministries, shut his ministry down, confess to his lies and false prophecies, join a sound church, and never preach again.”
A very worthwhile watch that clearly exposes the false recent claims of Benny Hinn, that he is still unregenerate!
Benny Hinn, thinks he is a victim, when has defrauded, thousands & thousands of people over 40 years now, the Bible warns one. To be n’t deceived by lips, that doesn’t have a true life change of on going Biblical repentance.
The video truly exposes Benny for who he has always been, a deceiver. May the Lord peel back harden layers of great deception from others, who are in desperate need of Christ Alone amen!
Oh how I pray the Lord has worked a work of saving Grace in the heart of Benny. Now is a time to pray and watch what the Lord, (who alone knows the heart of a man) is doing. Knowing full well that Jesus came into this world to save sinners, it is obvious that Benny is in good company with us, who all EQUALLY need the Savior.
Gary Gilley wrote: Many of the Word-Faith teachers also embrace a heresy known as Tritheism, which in essence teaches that there are really three separate Gods. Hinn, under supposed inspiration, explains:
"Man, I feel revelation knowledge already coming on me here. Holy Spirit, take over in the name of Jesus. ... God the Father, ladies and gentlemen, is a person; and He is a triune being by Himself separate from the Son and the Holy Ghost. Say, what did you say? Hear it, hear it, hear it. See, God the Father is a person, God the Son is a person, God the Holy Ghost is a person. But each one of them is a triune being by Himself. If I can shock you -- and maybe I should -- there's nine of them. Huh, what did you say? Let me explain: God the Father, ladies and gentlemen, is a person with his own personal spirit, with his own personal soul, and his own personal spirit-body. You say, Huh, I never heard that. Well you think you're in this church to hear things you've heard for the last 50 years? You can't argue with the Word, can you? It's all in the Word....
Hinn, under fire, later retracted his remarks, only to reaffirm them two years later.
I don't like the term prosperity gospel. The way it is used in this article is more of a transaction--you give $$ to a ministry, and God will bless you. That kind of teaching is not unusual in a lot of preaching. You hear it when you hear the preacher pleading, 'turn your life over to Jesus and he will change you, he will cleanse you, he will make you a New Man' In other words, you do this and God will do that for you. A simple transaction, right? And, how about this very common preaching, "God has a wonderful plan for your life" but you have to 'turn your life over to Jesus' to make it happen. What is left out is the verses in Hebrews 11, the 'Hall of Fame of the Faith" that talk about many bad things that happen. Obviously, no one told those people that 'God has a wonderful plan for your life" that included suffering, mistreatment, beatings, even death. Thanks to Charles Finney and many others, in the US, Christianity has been changed from what we see in the Bible. We can't even imagine what it would be like to follow something like 1 Timothy 5, the Guidelines for the Older Christian Woman. We can't imagine a church having a ministry to widows, or widows doing good works in the church in order to be qualified to receive the church's aid.
I pray he HAS truly repented and he is just trying to figure out what to do now. His sin is massive. If he’s truly repentant he will come to a point like Zaccheus did. Oh I pray he is!!! What a huge testimony that would be. Imagine the Glory that would bring to our God and the people that would get saved because the Lors uses BH testimony!
IMO, the possibility on a scale of 1-10 that Benny Hinn has repented and come to faith in Christ is a 2. I hope YIA notes that I didn’t give him a 1.
The first thing he would do to show his repentance is resign from any pastoral duties he has and then he would then try and give back all of the millions that he has stolen. I understand he has a net worth of over 40 million that was stolen.
I would believe he was sincere a whole lot more if he came out and said he had a come to Jesus moment. That he repented of his sins and had faith in Jesus Christ. A prosperity teacher who stops putting a dollar amount on what he ask you to give is still an unsaved prosperity teacher.
If you go to Mr. Hinn’s website, the very first line after the name of the ministry says “Donate Now.” In fact, “Donate Now” appears on every page of the website, and it appears twice on every page except one. I can’t help wondering about the legitimacy of his supposed change of heart.
