Charles Spurgeon described Psalm 84 as one of the most sweet of the psalms of peace.” The psalmist mentions three categories of people who are blessed by God. "Blessed are they that dwell in thy house” (v. 4). What a blessing to congregate with God's people in worship! “Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee” (v. 5). In the context this pictures the spiritual pilgrimage each Christian undertakes as we are changed from one degree of glory to another (2 Corinthians 3:18). The psalm concludes, “Blessed is the man that trusteth in thee” (v. 12). Oh, what blessedness to trust the One who is “a sun and a shield”, who will give His people “grace and glory” and promises to withhold “no good thing” from the upright (vv. 10-11).
