‘You won’t need ethics to work here’, says gambling company
A moral compass was unnecessary to work at a gambling company, a former industry worker has revealed.

In an article for the Guardian, the anonymous writer spoke out about their time working for a company where employees “never considered or cared about the consequences” of their actions.

Remote gambling – using a phone or computer to bet or play bingo and casino games online – is reportedly the largest sector in the industry, accounting for almost £4.5 billion per year and 33 per cent of all gambling revenue. ...

Ah, it seems as if I no longer have to wonder about the source of that single nickel JY somehow manages to part with in the collection plate each month at "that Baptist Church" he attends every Sunday.

You never give it a rest, do you, Jim? But no matter, it counts for nothing. No votes will be switched because you sling the stuff off the back of honey wagons.

I love this website mostly because of the way it backs up the answers with scripture. I would ask a question as it relates to Fantasy Sports, which I do believe is gambling, but wouldn't playing the stock market be considered the same thing?

Folks who have made a living and/or a fortune in this manner watch and study trends, they invest based on their research. Sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong.

It feels the same to me.

I certainly hope so. Only time will tell if it was an emotional decision or a decision powered by the Holy Spirit.

John Yurich, two questions for you. Let's see if you are honest enough to answer them.
1. Do you gamble? Yes or no. I didn't ask if you gamble much, I asked if you gambled. Period.
2. Is gambling, according to Scripture wrong? Whether it be wrong on your mind or not, makes no difference. Is it wrong in Scripture?

J.C. I agree with you. The Indian population is so lost, it's not funny. They're are among the most lost and bound people on earth. I love the aboriginal peoples, always have and it breaks my heart to see them being destroyed.

Why did you state that I worship my Baptist Pastor? My Non Denominational brother does not gamble but he and I go the casino buffet from time to time and I don't gamble when I go to the casino with my brother. I have decided that when my friend and I go to the casino for the buffet I will tell him that I have given up on gambling. It will not be a big deal if I give up gambling since I am not hung up on gambling.

John, think this out. Here is a person who for what appears to be purely alturistic reasons picks you up, takes you to the Casino and pays for your meal, which apparently is good but probably not that inexpensive.
You then stated it would be a stupid to put one's money in a slot machine. So is this how you pay back your friend's kindness to you by wasting his money on what you state is a stupid investment?
The buffet at the Casino is not inexpensive(about 20 dollars per person). Why would I offer to pay for the buffet if my friend wishes to pay for both our buffets? My friend is the one who wishes to play the slot machine. I really have no desire to play the slot machine. But my friend insists that we play the slot machine and he offers to provide the monetary resources to play the slot machine. My friend does not expect me to chip in for any food or chip in for gas when we do activities.

KDinDE, The source of that nickel I put in the collection plat once a month at that Baptist Church is change from using the EBT cash support to purchase products.

Calvinist Satire, Pastor Steve of that Baptist Church believes that gambling is wrong. And I was curious if the strip club had a buffet. I had no desire to go there.

Scandal: Conservative Catholic/Baptist John Yurich, gambles.

John Y has come out of the closet and admits that he gambles. "Look, I only gamble a couple cents, the reason being is that when I lost a bet against a Methodist, he said I had to be a Baptist" said John Y.

"Many people believe gambling is wrong, but Pastor Steve says otherwise." When asked where he got the money to play the slots, he said, "Oh, I collect the offerings, and take it to play the slots, I'm still asking my god if he will bless the offerings, so far, nothing."

At publishing time, John's moral compass found it alright to see if a buffet as a strip club...which confused just about everyone.
