The preacher for our revival is Tony Crisp, Ph.D. He is the Sr. Pastor of Eastanallee Baptist Church in Athens, TN. As he grew up in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina and East Tennessee, his parents were tenant farmers, moving almost yearly. The family was broken in the early 1960's and Tony and his two older brothers spent their remaining growing-up years with his maternal grandmother. An ever deepening poverty followed. His pre-teen and teenage years were characterized by rebellion, aimlessness and hopelessness. At age 19, after descending to the depths of despair and hopelessness, he became a follower of Jesus Christ and his life was forever changed. He soon attended Criswell College in Dallas, TX where he met Pastor Felker. He went on to earn his Masters’ degree, and two doctorate degrees. Dr. Crisp has served as pastor of churches from North Carolina to California and is a highly-sought-after teacher and Bible scholar. And yet, he describes himself as “country as cornbread” and has a unique ability to make the intricacies of the Bible and theology accessible to the common man. He is also the Founder of True Life Concepts Ministry. A leading authority on the history, culture and geography of the nation of Israel, Dr. Crisp has been traveling and leading tours to the Holy Land for more than 30 years. His wife Karen plans to come with him for our revival. They have 3 grown children & several grandchildren.
