Hebrews shows the Futility of the Old Covenant The writer of Hebrews wrote to Jews in hardship for following Jesus while they still had a temple. Their former Jewish lifestyle made it feel like life would be easier if they walked away from Jesus. Reading the letter like we're first century hebrews with our temple enticing us with fewer hardships, and its author is showing us the grass is not greener on the other side. Everyone realizes the temple was bound for destruction. I don't think this passage, in particular, is about works for our salvation nor OSAS |

Lies often lead to shame and humiliation, as Proverbs emphasizes. While movies bring up the tension of courtroom trials, real life exposes the cost of lies. Hate lies and seek the truth. In the meantime, try playing Slope to practice concentration and dexterity. |

Has God forgotten me? I went through a period this past spring where I sincerely felt that He had forgotten me or was ignoring my cries. I had no idea that Asaph's Psalm 77 could be so personally encouraging; and it took this sermon for me to SEE it for myself. What a comfort! HE DOES NOT FORGET his children. |

1 Tim 5:20 "rebuke an elder publicly", Act 25:11 "I appeal to Caesar" I'm Salvador Cordova, I was in the documentary. I was also threatened with arrest and by armed security and jail while sitting quietly in my chair on Sunday morning.
It said in 1 Tim 5:20 "rebuke an elder publicly". We have an obligation to warn other Christians of "wolves who will not spare the flock". We have done that.
We were threatened with arrest and jail. When Paul was imprisoned, he appealed to Caesar, and we also appealed to Caesar. We were not seeking financial damages and compensation, but rather "equitable relief" which is does not involve money. In fact we sacrificed enormous amounts of money to conduct what is equivalent to a legal probe. If anything we were defrauded of money. Thus the sense of 1 Cor 6 does not apply to our legal action, even though it is colloquially called a lawsuit.
What you said at the end is wrong and not consistent with scripture. Jesus rebuked churches in Revelation for tolerating evil teachers in church. We need to purge evil from the church 1 Cor 5:13. |
