Before me lay a book almost a century old: "School Laws of Pennsylvania - 1917." ARTICLE Q. HOLY BIBLE TO BE READ IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS. "That at least ten verses from the Holy Bible shall be read, or caused to be read, without comment, at the opening of each and every school day by the teacher in charge: Provided, That where any teacher has other teachers under and subject to direction, then the teacher exercising this authority shall read the Holy Bible, or cause it to be read, as herein directed. That if any school teacher, whose duty it shall be to read the Holy Bible, or cause it to be read, as directed in this act, shall fail or omit so to do, said school teacher shall, upon charges preferred for such failure or omission, and proof of the same, before the governing board of the school district, be discharged." Act May 20, 1913, P.L. p. 226. |

Some realism,I believe you may be missing the issue and points by many. Who besides the many evangelical believers(some liberal, of course)is included "as believers" in the signing of this document? ROME and its adherents! If you review the other S.A. breaking news in regards to the Man. Dec. you will notice the same kind of belief by Timothy George, et al., who speak of Roman Catholics (doctrine included)"as fellow Christians"! If they wanted solidarity, numbers, unity, etc. then why did they ONLY include R.Cath. and not the other cults? Simple: some liberal evangelicals do not consider Rome a cult or non Christian. The church at large is in a very weak state when it can be found compromising on the doctrine of justification. BTW, an earlier post of yours seems to imply that the Dec. is also about the gospel but now you also state that it definitely is not??? |

Brimstone,I have just read some of the declaration. J. Mac. has rightly stated that their is an implicit assumption that R. Catholics, et al., are Christians, eg., "...fellow believers...", "...As Christians...", "...we claim the heritage of...Christians...". Would you object if these clause were written in the declaration with the exception that Jehovah Witnesses and/or Seventh Day Adventists and/or the Mormons were fellow signatories instead of the Roman Catholics? There is NO NEED. Remember, unity must always include truth with the primary truth being the true gospel of Jesus Christ, always contending against another gospel than the gospel of grace! |

ISAIAH I part #1:Listen, O creation! Concerning a nation. Animals - yoke and bit. Instinct - no real wit. Children, I have raised. I call, yet, they look dazed. Burdened with their sins. Evildoers with their grins. Generations act corruptly. Cursings fall abruptly. From Him, they have turned. To them, He has spurned. Beatings, you do not like. Why then force me to strike. Your whole body is ill. Yet, you defy Me still. Desolate and with strangers. Once safe - now with dangers. If not for the Lord of Hosts. We'd be frightened by Sodom's ghosts. God's Word, you must hear. Rulers without fear. God's Law, alleluia! People of Gomorrah. Your sacrifices of fluff. I the Lord, have had enough. Blood of bulls, I am not pleased. At righteousness you sneezed. In prayer you have cried. From you, I did hide. T'is this that I delight. Do no evil and do right. Let us consider. A guilty litter. Sins as dark as night. Shall be bleached pure white. If you are dutiful. Your land will be fruitful. But if you disobey. With your life, you must pay. The faithful has become a whore. She is righteous no more. |

Bert,I have been visiting and commenting on S.A. for almost 2 years now and if you go back during that period you will see G.G. kept repeating the same Roman doctrines that had already been most soundly rebutted. It is all written down for you But, for your interest here is one that I do not believe was mentioned. Rome of course gives tradition(which has many forms, btw)equal authority with Holy Scripture. One of the highest forms of its tradition are the church fathers. In regards to apostolic succession they of course cite, Irenaeus, as a primary source. However, he definitely cannot be trusted because he stated in his,"Against Heresies", that BOTH Paul and Peter founded the church at Rome! How does Rome deal with this? They simply state that HE WAS IN ERROR on that point but when it serves to further their cult they of course say he was not in error. Of course, Irenaeus was in error before such as when he stated that Jesus did not die until he was in his fifties! You should really spend the time to research how G.G. was rebutted a year or two back over and over but he kept on repeating the same old speal. Bert, do you see how oral tradition cannot be trusted and only God's written revelation. TRADITION IS NOT INSPIRED BY GOD but GOD'S HOLY WORD IS!

GG,Nice try. These same foolish assertions have been rebutted over and over again. Once again, you may want to return to the earlier popish forums here on Sermon Audio. Or if you wish we may "once again" go over these one by one. The false church of Rome. Suffocating under the dome. When it came to the Bible. Infamous cult, chose to bridle. Bible reading, today more lenient. Becaue now it's more convenient. They throw in the scare. With - DON'T YOU DARE! An attempt to explicate. May result in excommunicate. JOHN 3:36 |

GG,The eternal, Lord God, Almighty, has made man in His image and given him the creation mandate of dominion over all of creation and in a sense is crowned with glory and majesty. However, God the eternal, Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient, HIS NAME ALONE is majestic and deserves all glory and honor. "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." Revelation 4:11 As Michael said, worship the Lamb and not the Lady!!! "And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever." Revelation 5:13 Mary, does not desire worship today and never has. She would not want people to make idols of her to worship her like foolish Nebuchadnezzar had made of himself, who having his reason restored gave praise and honor to God the Most High, the King of heaven Daniel 4:34,35 JOHN 3:36 |

The gaping divide is a gorge Mr. George. I always believed his teaching on church history compromised with Rome. Dr. Tim falsely asserts that we have a common Lord and a common grace with the Romans and that accordingly we should refer to each other as, brother's and sister's in Jesus Christ! What???John Owen on justification resembles N.T. Wright! What??? Intervarsity Staff took students to a Mass! What??? I wonder where these liberal Amer. Presbyterians of the 1800,s who considered recognizing Rome's baptism are today? Mr. Alec Hill, you might try: "By faith alone, In Jesus Christ alone." To be honest, it is watered-down, if any Roman is not offended and does not feel a need to leave Rome and her false teaching on justification. GG, You have been dreaming with your scheming. There is no proof for Rome's false claim of 2,000 years. Even if there were longevity does not mean truth. The true church lived alongside many cults and false beliefs. |

Bert,Referring to Rome as a cult is important because it deceives, eg., Mark 16:16, they take out of context and only use the first half of the verse and convince their adherents to do likewise. We may take this a verse at a time if you prefer. Acts 2:38 The word "for" is the greek preposition, eis. It may also be translated "because of". Notice the repentance at Ninevah. Matt. 12:41 "The men of Nineveh shall stand up with this generation at the judgment and shall condemn it, BECAUSE they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here." Eis is the word translated as because. They repented BECAUSE of the preaching of Jonah. According to, "Wuest's Word Studies" from the Greek New Testament for the English Reader, the correct and more clear translation of Peter's plea at Pentecost is,"Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ BECAUSE of the remission of sins." As you will see this is in total harmony with the rest of Scripture. "He that BELIEVETH on the Son 'HATH' eternal life : and he that 'BELIEVETH NOT' the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." Belief in Christ alone gives eternal life immediately(hath or has)no baptism or any other external rites.

Bert,Your responses agree with Rome that according to her one is born-again through baptism. Similar to all cults they love to pull out one Scripture, and twist it by taking it out of context normally and fail to garner the true meaning by referencing all the Scripture. The entire verse of Mark 16:16says thus: "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." Water baptism throughout Scripture flows naturally from one's belief in Christ but is NOT a condition for salvation. You can search the Scripture(please do for your own benefit)and you will NOT FIND ONE REFERENCE THAT ONE IS CONDEMNED BECAUSE OF NOT BEING BAPTIZED! ! ! One will spend eternity being punished and suffering in hell because of his unbelief. Super holy men, holy water, holy oil, etc., are not necessary but the binding doctrines of the men of Rome. Bert,For any human being to say that the death on the cross of the spotless, eternal, Lamb of God was sufficient for eternal life, and that through belief in his vicarious atonement for sin that one then has eternal life is the sin of presumption, according to the Rome! John 3:36 Like all cults the Roman system is man-centered. Roman practices - pagan. Again and again. Pray to this MAN for wealth. Look! This one will give you health. Of course, we need no reminder. St. Christopher hoax, still needs a finder. When pagan Rome does paint. She can create a saint. A patron doctrine, she shoves. But a goddess, she loves! |
