The Religion of (un)Peace strikes again. Very sad for the missionaries and Christians in that area....
A friend of mine personally witnessed one of the Moslems senseless killings in India; a mob of Moslems called out to a Hindu lad asking what his name was. When he replied they knew he was not a Moslem by his name so they just slashed him to pieces with a sword in front of many people.
A very violent, Godless religion driven by demonic forces.
1) That the Bible advises Christians to test the spirits, so testing the spirit behind the modern 'tongues' movement is entirely reasonable, despite Victors claims.
2) Muttering / peeping / chirping is spoken of in the Bible, but from very unsavoury characters. This is what the modern 'tongues' talk sounds like to my ears, and the exact same sounds can be made by Hindu swamis etc. Hence my desire to test this spirit first before accepting that it is a Godly trait.
Excuse me Vic, the Bible instructs us to "try the spirits, if they are of God"... pray tell who are you to claim this approach is instead of the devil?

I believe Christians have been instructed by God to determine if you and your like speak by the Holy Spirit or instead by a demonic force.
As before, the only way I can see you settling this one is if modern 'tongues' gifted speakers submit recordings to different 'interpretation' gifted believers and see if the interpretations are both consistent and are honouring to God.
It is an established fact that people without the Holy Spirit can speak in the modern 'tongues' equally well, so it seems entirely reasonable to apply this test.
As if Hovind operates a 'religious organisation'. The bible only recognises the Church (singular).... quite apart from the fact that Jesus was scathing in his criticizm of religious people.
Gotta say you have some very ass-about people in the US.
Does your constitution state that the Goverment shall provide eg all roads? If not, don't use them. If you genuinly believed him you would be doing the same anyway (refusing to pay your tax), not just sending postcards & paying lip service.
Just remember what the unrighteous will not inherit....
KMBN not sure what you read..... but the leadership here is still the same as it was in 2001. Not as namby-pamby as the UK (& Europe in general) thankfully but could be much stronger in what is right. Once governments largely depart from biblical principals it is all downhill (iron & clay).
I was in New England about a month ago - very beautiful spot! But a bit chilly for me in winter I would think.
That's sad.... things are not at all healthy in that area, surrounded by Moslems who only know to live by the sword. Parts of France etc are heading that way too.
Lurker, this is the real deal, believe me! The crowing is really funny, they can get quite good at it actually but just not very loud. Not sure if they stop laying, didn't keep a track of egg numbers.
The funny thing is as kids we always had bird knicknames for the nuns who wore different habits. The all-black ones were 'Crows' the black and white were 'Magpies' and the brown ones were 'Chooks' (that's Hens to you). Must admit I've gotten a little bit suspicious of them Nuns after seeing what happens to a bunch of Chooks locked up together for a few years! Ah.... I'm sure it is only my evil imagination.
No doubt GG or Lance will put me right! BTW noticed they rarely wear the habits here anymore which is sad.
Mike, just FYI if Chooks (that's Oztalk - Chickens in Americaspeak I guess) are keep in a pen without a Rooster they can go homo. I have witnessed this several times in the past with our Chooks; after a while one or more of the Hens will do the full thing including crowing and mating. Queer Chooks!
But the point is they are just stupid Chooks, and God intended the Hens and Roosters to mix I guess. Not that the Roosters treat them well in any way!
I'm not suggesting this carries into the human race (although the RC's here might like to consider the possible implications for monasteries....)
Faithful Remnant (BTW forgive me but that's not referring to your clothes I hope!?) do you have any suggestions for good CD's of Christian Hymns? Some capitalize on the music too much (the words are what matters) while others sound like an Opera from the 40's & tend to upset the cats and dogs nearby. Got any favourites? Anyone else? Thanks.....
