JYurich,Don't fret about the time it took to reply, I personally have too much access time to this site while on the job. Concerning your post. I trully wish that I could have replied to you more personally for I am sure that your reply will see some scrutiny, and although that may be something that is due... I am coming with light reproof and some exhortation, which is contrary to my practice here. Regardless, I must ask you to step back and look at your response. As I pointed out earlier, as far as your testimony states, I must assume you are saved, the same as I was. So I wish to start with the title of Brother to you, in a good faith effort. Now, with all that being said, may we begin? "I am not that comfortable with the service that that they have in Evangelical/Fundamentalist Protestant Churches because in Evangelical/Fundamentalist Protestant Churches everybody is expected to engage in interpersonal communication and fellowship with other individuals and I am not that comfortable engaging in interpersonal communication and fellowshipping with other individuals. I do not see the need to engage in interpersonal communication and fellowship with other individuals in church" ... would it be safe to say, in other words, you don't like being around people? |

To Lie-nus: Continuing that second post, still "The argument here is very biased and not taking into account much of science's discoveries." ... If by biased you mean that we take the Bible and believe it literally and account all else as hogwash, then by George your right! We are biased! Amen!I do take into account scientific discoveries though, as long as they agree with the Bible. Unfortunately, in many cases, Eccl. 7: 29 is too true: Ecclesiastes 7:29 Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions. "How am I to be convinced? Much less a non-believer." .... You have not stated that you believe one thing out of the Bible yet. Thus far I can tell no difference between you and a non-believer. "Look at the bible in a new way." ... right, like how? Upside down? Crosseyed? Underwater? Apparently the old ways haven't worked for all those coming before us. If only they had known! If they had read the Bible sideways they too could have know about evolution and been saved!!! Oh the agony! "just my two cents worth" .... I wouldn't give it that much linus. So, don't be so boastful. Hope this helps you son, you sure need it! Speaking the Truth in Love, LMW |

To Lie-nus: Continuing on your Second Post "To try to find a way to explain how Scientific evidence coincides with the Bible, and vice versa." ... You know, I don't have much trouble with this. If the Bible and science disagree, the science is wrong. Simple. You know scientists used to think that the letting of blood could heal a person? They used to think the earth was square! They thought man came from rocks. They teach that a child inside a mother is a fetus, not a child. They do teach and have taught all manners of ignorace. Now, do they find out stuff, sure. Do they create new cures for diseases? Sure.. well no, not really, they do find things that help people deal with diseases though. Regardless, you get the point. I hope. "Full dinosaur fossils have been found and carbon dated to over 270 million years old. And more fossils have been dated to an age greater than that. Unless you want to dispute that there can be a 270 million year inaccuracy in carbon dating" ... I am not a scientist. I am not aware that you are one. I know little about C-14, radioactive decay, and half-life Still, my statement stands true, when science disagrees with the Bible, I will choose the Bible. |

To Lie-nus: Cont.I stated in the last post that you should read I Tim. 6. I got to thinking that you might not have a Bible or be to familiar with one, especially in light of the cult you are in. So, I am offering some help. 1)When I say, I Tim. 6., I assume you knew I meant First Timothy chapter six, the whole chapter. 2) If you don't have a Bible, you can read one on the internet. Go to Bible.com, and look under KJV, which stands for King James Version. 3) There is a pastor on this site named Mark Lawless, I know his church will send you a Bible if you need one. I am being sincere here, for I know not how easy it is to obtain a Bible in Singapore. |

To Lie-nus: Concerning your second post If I took the bible that literally, we would all be products of incest, since Cain's wife would have to be Adam and Eve's daughter too. Don't you agree? ... If you took the Bible literally, you could get saved for starters. To answer your question though, no. Cain's wife could have been his cousin or his niece, as well as his sister. Furthermore, there was no incest laws before the law was put in place. Tough huh? "I'm not here to tell you that the Bible is wrong." ... Romans 3:4? What are you here for then? "I'm here to tell you not to take the bible to literally" ... oh, I see, you are here to tell us the Bible isn't wrong, just that it is a lying, ficticious fairy tale. I see, clear as mud. Son, the ROMAN catholic cult has spread that falsehood for centuries. This fish ain't biting. I believe God, you believe man... big difference. "To appreciate Science and not reject it" ... Do you think Daniel believed God? Read about him in relation to science. No offense to you, but I am sticking with Daniel. To further that, I appreciate science, it has done some swell things. I just don't appreciate science, falsey so called. Read I Tim 6. |

Continued: "God probably did it IN HIS TIME." ..you don't say? "Creationists, can't you embrace the possibility that our God, who is Wisdom, saw each and every possible event on earth? ... yes, its called foreknowledge "INCLUDING EVOLUTION" ... no, that is contrary to the Bible. "Moreover, there is more than enough evidence to show that earth is more than 10000 years old. So stop being foolish to try to dispute that. Get real." .... When God created Adam, how old was he? Could God have created the earth in the same manner? Just something for you to chew on. On that "get real" part... nevermind. "We should be focusing on our task. To be the masters of Nature, not its destroyer." ...Wasn't that He-Mans job? Oh no, sorry, he was one of the Masters of the Universe. Beyond that Skeletor, you should read the New Testament, there are plenty of other things we could be doing than being masters of nature... of course you would then have to believe the Bible to follow those... |

To Lie-nus:Continued.... "But frankly speaking, I don't think the author of the Creation story meant what he said when he said "God created the universe in seven (or six) days"." ... Either you regularly have brunch with Moses and he filled you in on this, or you have ESP. Or you are raising your opinion over the Bible... "How do you know that 7 days to God, is 7 of our days? He who lives in eternity." ... This is your big question for creationists? Simple. He said seven days. Let me help you. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7. See how simple? Let's flip that, how do you not know it was 7 literal days? The burden of proof is on you. "Time is relative" ... Oh how deep! Oh how mind boggling! Did you come up with that on your own?!? "Whatever was written in the Book of Genesis was written so that the readers will know how great God is." ... well amen to that. There is always a little truth mixed in... "Not for you naive people to calculate the age of the Earth." .... I aint calculating the age boy. I am telling you how many days it was created in. Beyong that, how come we are naive in believing the Bible (written by the all knowing God) yet you are so brillant to believe lost scientists who will be dead and forgotten? |

Lie-nus:Continued: In response to your foolish statements: "I feel that many Christians here are taking the Bible too literally." .. Big deal. You lost people never take the Bible literally at all, which you should do. Furthermore, your feelings don't matter. Lastly, do YOU get to choose that Genesis is false while John 3:16 is not? "I am a Roman Catholic myself" ... I addressed this problem in my first post. To further my first post, don't boast of being a ROMAN catholic cultist, it is nothing to brag about. "our beliefs don't differ too much" ... Maybe you are talking about the current ecumenical movement. maybe you are talking about the laodecian church age. maybe you are talking about 95% of the churches today. You are NOT talking about Bible believers, for the difference there is night and day. We could have a whole thread on the differences, so get your head out of the bucket and come back to reality. There is a big difference between the ROMAN catholic cult and the Bible, therefore there is a big difference between what you believe and what the Bible teaches... to be continued... |
