I'll bet if you took a scientific survey you would find that few or no unmarried teenagers in the history of earth have ever engaged in sexual activity while listening to Gadsby's Hymns or the Metrical Psalms.I'll also bet that if you took a scientific survey of unmarried Christian teens you would find a huge percentage of them who DID engage in sexual activity and many who became pregnant while using DC Talk, Steven Curtis Chapman, Amy Grant, Newsboys, Third Day, Michael W. Smith, etc. as their background music. Think about this: They don't play 'How Firm A Foundation' in bars, whorehouses or at wild parties. Sadly, though, churches now are FILLED with worldly, sensuous music. Hence, worldly, apostate churches. I don't need a scientific survey to observe that. |

Frenchie wrote:"It's interesting to note that those who hold dear their KJV bible and condemn the science of textual criticism have never taken studied NT Greek or read up on textual criticism. Unfortunately, this is a continuation of the blindness of traditionalism and a result of American intillectualism (IMHO)." First, none of that is true. I know many, many fine folks who adhere to the KJV who have indeed studied NT Greek and clearly understand the "science" (falsely so-called) of textual criticism. This "science" attempts to place man's flawed logic ahead of the logic of faith. Also, most of the men teaching NT Greek today were taught that the Nestle Aland text is best by whoever taught them so that's what they teach others. This is what James White would call 'circular reasoning'. Tradition, if you will. Second, believe it or not, there are many of us who do not adhere to the blindness of traditionalism but rather believe that God has preserved His Word for us IN SPITE of the flawed logic of the aforementioned "science" of modern textual critics. After looking at both sides of the matter, many just believe that the traditional text is best. Third, Frenchie, in spite of your intellectual superiority, you misspelled intellectualism. |
