This lord's day is very brief and short. We already know that the resurrection defies being fully explained and our faith moves on to its impact! Many will have nothing of the resurrection and we are often mocked and scorned because we believe in it. Christ is risen from the dead and it has practical application to our life!
Righteousness: "He overcame death that we might be partakers of His righteousness." Death had cosmic consequences in the beginning. We live in a sinful sphere that rots and rusts. He lifted the realm of creation into sonship. Christ overcame death (as the 2nd Adam) and all things will be renewed to the glory of the Lord. We are still in the realm of death so it falls on deaf ears when we speak of the resurrection. He applies that righteousness unto us which is the crowning of His work! His resurrection symbolizes the taking away of the power and sting of death and applies it to us as His Spirit bears with our spirit and applies to us all of His blessings as it finds application in us! The Victor over sin, death and the grave, hell has given us the right to pass through them all. He did not only die for us, BUT he rose for us! We are made righteous in Him!
Holiness: Not only are we possessors but we are made PARTAKERS in those blessings and we are able to live a new life as sin no longer has dominion over me and you. There is no excuse at all for sin to RULE in your body as the new life of Christ dominates. Does that mean perfection? Of course not as we still live in this flesh as we cry out often times "oh wretched man that I am!" That new life however dominates ours to holiness.
Our Resurrection: The first fruits of a bountiful harvest. Though we die we LIVE! We are moved to the heavenly realm and our soul yearns for final victory when we will live perfectly in this body that will be raised into glory.
We have this sure pledge in Christ's resurrection. We WILL be in GLORY FOREVERMORE! A world without end AMEN!
"Our Profit in Christ's Resurrection" COL. 1 and LD17 This tremendous doctrine has always been the mockery of the Church at large. We will never convince or convict others of the resurrection, but it is a matter of faith! The absence of trying to...[ abbreviated | read entire ]
