And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: 21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. 23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness. Gen 9:21

The first act of our Gracious Redeemer towards men, after the awful fall of our first parents, was to cover their nakedness. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. Gen 3:21

To be sure this act foreshadows our being clothed in the righteousness of Jesus Christ, our substitute. God did it because He loved us. He first, sought us out, by the Word of his power, from among the trees of shame and guilt and a legitimate condemnation, and in the mercy and grace of a sin atoning satisfaction, by Christ propitiation for his people, in love covered us in with His Spirit. “ Love covereth” Hatred tells, exposes, and discovers others flaws. Hatred? Yes Hatred. Prov 10:12 Solomon warns about the talebearer, the tattler, the one who takes joy in the secrets of others.

This pathetic son of Noah, Ham, what a pain: serves as a warning concerning the age that we live in today. It is totally consumed with nakedness, and the unending past time of looking on others nakedness, and promoting it, in it’s undress and behavior. This is the spirit of Ham. A perverse generation. A cursed people. A people bereft of godly reverence, decency and respect for the image of God. Gen 1:26-28- 1cor 6:19,20

Little wonder God, instructed his set apart people about such sinful and destructive acts, to avoid that for which the heathen would be destroyed . Lev 18-20. This is a major cause of today’s immorality in our nation and the world abroad. The foolish man in his arrogance and hatred of God, is exposing himself and others, as a lie, that we are not vile in our nature, wicked in our hearts, and perverse in our ways. Mt 15:19,20

Saints, learn the lesson well, the enemy incrementally reinserts his schemes, until the whole system of rebellion rules in darkness. By the grace of God, choose to act like Noah’s noble sons, turn your backs on all forms of nakedness, printed page, internet, T.V, works religion, etc. Despise the flesh, your own as well. 1John 2:15 - 1Thess 5:22

Warn everyone against the delusion of self righteousness and a false sense of acceptance before God, outside of Christ righteousness. Apart from Christ glorious ineffable righteousness as our full covering before His holiness, we all are nothing but sin and corruption and abominable flesh. A world of iniquity, preparing for destruction. Preach Christ and keep your clothes on!
