I am new at this kind of thing so bear with me. I really don't know what to say or even how to blog. Sometimes I imagine that a blog is kind of like a middle school girl writing her deepest thoughts and feelings in her journal (old timers call it a diary). I don't want this to be a diary but, I plan on from time to time getting on here and sharing what God is doing at Friendship BC or maybe let you kow how God is working in my heart as well. Today though, I want to introduce myself and the Church that I pastor to you. My name is Troy McGahan and I am the Pastor of Friendship BC Appomattox, Va. God has blessed me to be the Pastor here for the last year. Before I came here Earnie Lucas started and Pastored this work for 35 years and did a marvelous job and for that I am grateful.
I grew up in a good Christian home in Somerset, KY. Of course growing up in small town Ky if you were raised with morals and had a good upbringing you were a UK Wildcat fan. If you were'nt blessed with such a raising then you became a Louisville Cardinal fan (you can laugh). Like most kids my brother and I were very involved in Sports growing up and we stayed busy working around the house. However, make no mistake about it Sunday morning, evening and Wednesday night we knew where we would be and that was Church. The Lord saved me when I was 18 year olds and I surrrendered my life to the call of gospel ministry at the age of 22 while a member at Grace BC Science Hill, KY. God in his providence has allowed this country boy to preach in 22 different states and Pastor 5 different works in 4 states.
Now my family and I are here Friendship BC and we love it!!!! Friendship BC is located on the outskirts of Appomattox, Va approximately 1.5 miles past the High School. Our people are genuine, friendly, honest and hardworking people that love the Lord. If everyone is healthy we will have around sixty people, most Sundays around fifty. We have talented musicians, good singers and our people love preaching from God's Word!!!! If you live within driving distance of Appomattox we would love to have you. However, if you cannot then please tune in and listen. We hope to be a blessing to you.
