"AMERICAN PSYCHIATRIC ASSOCIATION:Pedophilia has been re-defined in the American Psychiatric Association's latest Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-IV), says the National Association of Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH). Pedophiles are no longer classified as pedophiles if they merely fantasize about children or molest them, according to the NARTH Bulletin. They are only pedophiles if they show "clinically significant distress" about their behavior. The DSM-IV declares that pedophilia is not pathological unless the pedophiles feel guilt or cannot function in a major area of their lives, reports NARTH." Psychology and psychotherapy as these have evolved today reject the sovereignty and sufficiency of the Word, who is both the person and the testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ. The bible personifies wisdom as being Jesus. Any teaching or purported theories which dishonor or reject Jesus therefore cannot be considered "wisdom." American Psychiatric Association Symposium Debates Whether Pedophilia, Gender-Identity Disorder, Sexual Sadism Should Remain Mental Illnesses "On Monday, May 19th, 2003 in San Francisco, at a symposium hosted by the American Psychiatric Association, several long-recognized categories of mental illness were discussed for possible removal from the upcoming edition of the psychiatric manual of mental disorders... Earlier, in the December 2002 issue of a prestigious journal, the Archives of Sexual Behavior, Moser - along with several other prominent mental-health experts - argued in favor of de-pathologizing pedophilia. Some of the commentators writing in that issue said that there is little or no proof that sex with adults is harmful to minors. Another mental-health expert argued that society should not discriminate against adults who are attracted to children - noting that many beloved authors and public figures throughout history have been high-functioning individuals who could actually be classified as pedophiles. 'Any sexual interest,' Moser concluded in his Archives commentary, 'can be healthy and life-enhancing.'"
American Psychiatric Association Endorses Gay Marriage At Convention "The majority of the American Psychiatric Association's 250 delegates to the convention passed a resolution affirming gay marriage by a voice vote. The delegates are said to represent the views of 36,000 members of the APA nationwide. The resolution passed stated: 'In the interests of maintaining and promoting mental health, the APA supports the legal recognition of same-sex civil marriage with all rights, benefits and responsibilities conferred by civil marriage, and opposes restrictions to those same rights, benefits and responsibilities.' ... In 1973, the APA removed homosexuality from its list of mental disorders..."
