COVID-19 Update 2020 03-19 Sunday Services

Greetings in Jesus' Most Blessed Name:

No doubt you are wondering how all the virus news and social limitations are going to affect PEFC. I'd like to try to answer some of your questions now and hope to answer in the next couple days.

1. WILL WE MEET ON SUNDAY? Yes…and No.

The Elders have discussed the pros and cons of meeting (things such as the gov’t mandated attendance limits, forsaking the assembling, contagiousness, dangers if health has been compromised, ongoing need for corporate prayer and biblical encouragement, etc.).

We have decided to continue offering the building for the corporate gathering to meet for worship and prayer according to our normal Meeting for Worship schedule (Sundays at 9:30 a.m.). The meeting will focus upon prayer and scripture reading. A sermon may be delivered as well.

2. WHAT IF I AM CONCERNED ABOUT COVID-19?

If your health is compromised, for whatever reason, please feel free to stay at home and pray together with us from your home. If your health poses a contagion risk to people of compromised health, please stay at home and pray together with us from there.

Even if you are healthy, please exercise “social-distancing” discretion, and refrain from giving/receiving hugs and handshakes. “Air handshakes and hugs” are okay. Please also leave at least six to eight feet of space between you (and your family members) and others in the congregation as you choose where to sit down. [In this case, rather than everyone moving toward the front, feel free to leave a reasonable space between yourself and others.]

3. IF I CHOOSE TO STAY HOME, WILL THERE BE A WAY TO AT LEAST LISTEN TO A SERMON FOR THE DAY?

Yes! My plan at this point, is to pre-record a sermon so that it can be posted to Sermonaudio.com/pefc by 10:00 am on Sunday morning. For those who do not have internect capability, I hope to have another way for you to listen in...still working on this one.

4. CAN I CONTINUE TO GIVE TITHES AND OFFERINGS, EVEN IF I DON'T ATTEND THE SERVICE ON SUNDAY MORNING?

Yes! We have an secure online giving option through our relationship with SermonAudio.com/pefc that will allow you to give as much and as often as you desire. This option is available 24/7/365.

5. WILL WE STILL HAVE A BRING-AND-SHARE THIS SUNDAY?

NO, the Bring-and Share is cancelled.

6. IS IT POSSIBLE TO LISTEN TO THE SERMONS ON MY PHONE?

YES! You can download an app through Google Play store, or through the sermonaudio website that will allow you to listen on your smartphone or tablet or ______... whenever you would like. In fact, sermons have been downloaded to a Mobile App more than 2,000 times so far.

You can also download an app for your ROKU, FIRE, KINDLE, iPAD (or any of several other formats). The appropriate links are on the sermonaudio.com homepage, at the bottom of the page in the first column on the left. Simply click on the appropriate title, and follow the istructions. https://sermonaudio.com/pefc

Once you have downloaded the app, you can either do a search for Peninsula Evangelical Friends Church, or you can enter the SermonAudio code for PEFC - 18111. This will load our church as your home church, and when you open the app, it will automatically take you to the most recent uploaded sermon.

7. WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER, OR THE KIND OF PHONE THAT CAN CONNECT WITH THE INTERNET?

I am looking into several options that would allow people, who do not have the technical capabilities for accessing the internet, to be able to have a dial-up number where they can dial in, enter a code that connects to our live message, and then listen to the webcast over their landline or "dumb-phone" connection.

I will try to keep communicating in as timely a manner as possible to update you on how to keep participating together, even as we are temporarily separated.

8. CONNECTION OPTIONS

Even if we do not live-stream the sermon online, you will be able to listen to the sermon at sermonaudio.com/pefc as soon as it is uploaded. I plan to have the sermon available for you by Sunday morning. The QR code on the left will take you there... Sermon Access: https://sermonaudio.com/pefc

In addition to sending checks via snail-mail, we have a secure way for you to give online through our sermonaudio.com/donate site.

You can also get there by going to www.pefcpa.com and clicking on the DONATE button, or by pointing your phones camera at the QR code on the right.

Please keep each other in your prayers. Please let me (or someone) know if you need any assistance (shopping, running an errand, etc.).
