“ Great Sermon! ”
Too much to be gained from a closer look. Daniel 9 is the passage Christ was speaking of. 69 weeks of years was the time described that would take place between the decree to rebuild Israel to the time the Messiah would present Himself as king, which was predicted to the exact day. The 27th verse describes the 70th week of years in which the abomination that makes desolate occurs. This week occurs separately from the 69 which is made obvious by the prediction that the temple would be destroyed. Which did happen almost 40 years later in 70 AD; much longer than 7 years later. At the beginning of this week the "prince that shall come" confirms a covenant with Israel and in the middle of the week causes the sacrifices to be halted. There has to be another temple of course for this to happen. This prince is the antichrist. When he stops the sacrifices he also spreads an abomination that makes desolate. This is what Christ was referring to from Daniel. This desolation will continue until the consummation or end which is determined which is poured on the desolate. The antichrist is of course the desolate. This 3 & 1/2 year period is the great tribulation Christ is referring to. The apostles are being instructed to flee this occurrence. Could give much more detail with more space

“ Great Sermon! ”
Todd is of course exactly right to say we have to trust Christ for all our salvation. We have nothing to offer. Our Lord has paid the price. He determined to redeem us from eternity past. But this story is in the midst of passages condemning the religious system of Israel in that day. How would you feel if you saw someone give what they had for their last meal to a false religious system. Christ was angered by the false religion that would take from widows and the those who have desperate need rather than caring for those who have need. Their was no love in their religion except for themselves.

We are indeed all sons of Noah who was only 150 generations from us. We are all one race. Division based on skin color or nationality is wrong no matter the skin color of the one perpetrating the division. We who are in Christ should especially be blind to identification based on such superficial things. We are brothers and sisters in the flesh but we are more than that. We are brothers and sisters in Christ.

Sermon:
What Is Law, What Is Grace?
Todd Nibert

“ Great Sermon! ”
We do indeed hate the message of salvation by works, but we do not hate the law for His law is written in our hearts. I am aware that Todd knows this because I have heard him preach that. I just think it may need some pointing out for some who would argue differently. We are not antinomians or ones who are against the law, we just know that we have absolutely no ability to be saved by it and that is why grace is so precious to us. Knowing our individual role in serving our God seems to me a very difficult thing to know. Our service is from day to day and minute to minute and in order to know we must be in communion and prayer continually. That is certainly not natural to the natural man but that is indeed what we need. We also need to know His Word in order to know how he would have us serve. His Word teaches us who He is. We can't serve Him if we don't know who He is. We need Spirit and Truth. Each of us has a different service in God's kingdom and we need constant prayer and study in His Word in order to serve as our Lord would have us serve. It is all in His predeterminate counsel, but God loves to have communion with us through His Son and He determined to use us in His plans, not because He needs us for anything but because He loves us and our time with Him in His work.

“ Great Sermon! ”
The allegories of Christ from the Old Testament are everywhere to be seen. They are beautiful pictures of Christ. And there are allegories of how God always saves an elect people from judgement such as Noah and his family, Lot and his daughters, and Rahab and her family. Moses' life mirrored the life of our Saviour in many ways. They both had a king attempt to kill them by killing all the male babies. They both were ordained to lead their people out of bondage and they both had a gentile bride. Ruth also was a gentile bride saved by a kinsmen redeemer. The serpent lifted up by Moses for people to be healed from the bite of a serpent pictures our Lord on the cross. The allegories are almost endless. But the beautiful and instructive allegories of scripture never negate the plain reading, they only enhance it.

“ Food for thought ”
I agree Abraham has a natural seed. He had 8 sons. 1 by Sarah, 1 by Hagar, and 6 by Keturah. And he had a spiritual seed of which all regenerated believers are numbered. But to deny the role of the nation Israel in "the day of the Lord"(a statement that occurs 29 times in the KJV, 5 times in the NT) based on that is quite a statement. Especially in light of 600+ prophecies of our Lord's second coming which is double the number of prophecies of His first coming. Zechariah 12 even mentions the descendants of specific Jewish families that will mourn for their Messiah such as the house of David, Nathan, Levi, and Shemei; each family by themselves and their wives by themselves. Every individual of those families will mourn in that day. The Holy Spirit (who moved on the writers of scriptures as they wrote) is making it known by being so specific that this is no allegory. The prophecies of Christ's first coming were literal and accurate and so are the prophecies of His second coming. I'm not picking on Todd. I just feel very strongly about the Bible saying what it means and meaning what it says. Besides Todd said he looked forward to my comments. I hope that's true. I wouldn't be listening to him so much if I didn't enjoy hearing him.

Sermon:
Melchizedek
Todd Nibert

“ Great Sermon! ”
Very blessed message on our sovereign Lord, our King, and our High Priest and His work on our behalf. Noah was still alive during the time of Abraham's father Terah and I have no doubt Noah continued to preach after the flood. Not many of Noah's grandchildren listened to his words obviously. But I am sure at least a few did. I believe Melchizedek was a real king who acted as priest for his people as one of the very few believers of the time. I believe when it says Christ was after the order of Melchizedek who had no beginning of days, it was referring to the fact that his geaneology is not given. Abraham obviously had great respect for such a godly King. But that is my take on it. Either way Melchizedek is a beautiful picture of our Savior and I very much appreciated this message and the glory it gives to our Lord, The King of Righteousness!
