Great Sermon! I like how you point out that God is not Just a spectator. Because if it were so, the Bible wouldn't be what it is and mankind in his sinful nature would always choose a selfish end.
THE DUPED ONES !! Arminians do not want to accept the reality that God is in control of ALL things, including where every individual will spend eternity. They have bought the lie of the Devil that they are in charge of their destiny. They are in a state of contentment that will not last because their happiness is based on illusion or false hope. Thus, Arminians reside in a fool’s paradise! ... so much so that they make up their own heretical version of the Scriptures and show no remorse for doing so!
DOERS OF THE WORD !! Thank you, Pastor Gables, for including in this and last week’s sermon how God caused a young man (who was in need of a show of mercy) to cross paths with you. Scripture (James 1:22) tells us “...be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only...†And, that scripture goes on to tell us that “we deceive ourselves†if we only hear the Word of God and do not put it into practice. Thank you for being obedient to God’s Word and assisting the young fella on his way to his destination. And, more importantly, thank you for giving ALL the glory to God. May it please Our Heavenly Father to use the encounter that the young man had with you to make for such a positive and lasting impression on him that his life will be changed for the better (that he will have seen Christ in you and be drawn to Him). It is as William Cowper wrote, “God moves in a mysterious way, his wonders to perform.â€
Great Sermon! If this were the first time I'd ever here these things, I think I would fear and realize God is always in control of ALL things.. Great message Jim.
IT'S BIBLICAL !! God bless you for undertaking this teaching. It needs to be brought out of the dark and into the light of day again! (To say, as alas! many preachers are saying -- God is willing to do His part IF you will do yours, is a wretched and excuseless denial of the Gospel of His Grace. To declare that God helps those who help themselves, is to repudiate one of the most precious truths taught in the Bible! The Bible alone teaches that God helps those who are UNABLE to help themselves, who have tried again and again only to fail. To say that the sinner’s salvation turns upon the action of his own will, is another form of the God-dishonoring dogma of salvation by human efforts. In the final analysis, any movement of the will is A WORK: it is something FROM ME, something which I DO. But, the doctrine of God’s sovereignty lays the axe at the root of this evil tree by declaring, “it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, BUT OF GOD WHO SHOWS MERCY†(Romans 9:16) –A. W. Pink.)
Great Sermon! Not a shadow can rise not a cloud in the skies but his smile quickly drives it away not a doubt nor fear not a sigh nor a tear can abide while we trust and obey. Thank you Jim !

Great Sermon! Thank you, Bro. Jim, for your excellent presentation on the doctrine of everlasting punishment. As always, your love of the truth, sound exegesis, and exaltation of God's glory warm my heart. This message was most helpful to me in continuing to defend the truth.
THE WORLDLY CHURCH !! Bus ministry does still exist, Pastor Gables. Here is the latest form of it as revealed by the August 2013 Monthly Bulletin found on the website of Thomas Road Baptist Church (Lynchburg, VA). It reads "FATHERS BRING YOUR KIDS TO THE BALL PARK -- On Sunday, August 11th, we will be leaving at 11:00 a.m. and taking a bus from the Thomas Road parking lot to see The Washington Nationals play the Philadelphia Phillies. The cost will be $40 per person. This price will include a spot on the bus, lunch for the trip and a ticket to the game." As you probably know, Pastor Gables, this is a well-known Southern Baptist church (estab. by Jerry Falwell) that boast of a membership of 24,000. Big in number because it caters to the flesh and the same holds true for Liberty University (enrollment of over 100,000 students) founded by Falwell and Elmer Towns (who you made reference to in your sermon). Scripture teaches that the "true" followers of Christ are a "little flock" -- always has been the case and will be until the end of time. God has kept you and your ministry on the narrow path and off the broad road that leads to destruction. As long as you have breath, continue to contend for the faith.
