Great Sermon! How great is the love of God, evidenced in his regenerating power, whereby those in darkness are translated into God's kingdom and made his children! I am rejoicing today that God loves me.
Great Sermon! It is a lovely conclusion to the example of the woman whose daughter was possessed. And what a mighty Saviour that he cast out the demon instantly and from a distance, and told the woman to return home, for her daughter was now freed that affliction. The whole episode was very short, and it illustrates that the gospel itself may have an instantaneous result, with sinners who are determined enough to find Christ and appeal to him, no matter what the obstacles or difficulties in the way. I was very blessed by this series. Thank you.
Great Sermon! Some good biblical examples of determination to reach Christ, knowing that only he can do poor sinners good. Coming humbly, looking to Jesus alone. Yea and amen.
Great Sermon! I always appreciate any brother who takes scripture just as it is. The humiliating words of Jesus Christ the Lord here, as he answers the woman, stand as part of God's word, and show the old covenant was still being fulfilled. I liked the reference to Psalm 147:19-20.
Great Sermon! There is neither jew or Greek, because we are all Israelites who have been scattered to the ends of the earth for many millennia ,and God is calling us home... did you ever wonder why Britain was given the title of the United Kingdom brother?...
I notice that you have another listener who has been appreciating your life’s work too, God bless you John from Wales, pray for revival brothers!!!
Great Sermon! "Come to Christ!" Come, just as this woman came to Christ. Today, there is much competition as to what a sinner ought do, when awakened as to his need. But the one thing needful is to come to Christ. In him is salvation.
Great Sermon! Sin brings ruination. This woman's daughter was possessed of a devil. Guilty before God. How precious the gospel of God's grace is, that sinners may be forgiven and given eternal life.
Interesting conclusion! I think this is the final one in this short series, and it brought an interesting conclusion concerning the disobedience of those who witnessed the miraculous healing. I had never thought about this before, so I am pondering these things. Thanks brother.
More lessons! Here are more lessons to learn from the way Jesus dealt with this afflicted man and, in the process, show that salvation is of God, salvation is of the Lord. God be praised and all glory to him. If joy comes to one physically healed, much more joy does one have to believe on Christ to life eternal.
Good lesson! What a good spiritual lesson is brought out of this text of scripture from the friends of the afflicted man. They brought the man to Christ; they beseeched Christ to heal him. And we are to do the same with our friends, relatives, contacts. We are to bring them to Christ, not a religious course; to Christ not Christendom; to Christ not churchianity. And doing so, we ought plead with Christ for his healing touch, his saving power.
Must needs do this more and more.
Great Parallel! Brother David here in Mark 7:31-32 compares and parallels the man whom Jesus healed of his deafness and dumbness, with the way he saves and converts sinners who are spiritually dead, deaf and dumb. Quoting from the well-known hymn of Charles Wesley (O for a thousand tongues to sing my great Redeemer's praise) it is as though Wesley had in mind this passage of scripture, when he speaks of Christ bringing life to the dead, opening the hearing, and loosening the tongue to praise the Redeemer.
5. He speaks, and listening to his voice,
new life the dead receive;
the mournful, broken hearts rejoice,
the humble poor believe.
6. Hear him, ye deaf; his praise, ye dumb,
your loosened tongues employ;
ye blind, behold your savior come,
and leap, ye lame, for joy.
Leap, ye lame, for joy. A joyless Christianity is not the real thing but a counterfeit.
Great Sermon! Amen indeed! I well remember being a child of the devil; and I well remember when the Spirit brought me regeneration and made me a child of God. 'O happy day that fixed my choice on thee my Saviour and my God'. Such wonderful grace.
Great Message! Any who suffer adversities, as I do on a regular basis, will be blessed by these words on adversity from the Gospel of Mark. Any who are currently of the health, wealth and prosperity persuasion, could benefit from hearing this message.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ is such a joyous thing, and wondrous to behold and experience.
Encouraging message! Our citizenship is in heaven. What a joyous and wonderful thought, to be a child of the King of kings through regeneration and faith in Jesus Christ.
But there is also a warning here of backsliding and acting like worldlings, whose mind is on earthly things. Encouragements often go together with warnings. Must needs heed.
What a Saviour! O deep joy!
"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated (transferred) us into the kingdom of his dear Son".
Amen and Amen.
