Wonderful Encouragement I would really encourage Christian guys to read this and become the men that God wants you to be. As a girl, I am looking forward to seeing guys become Godly men. Don't stop fighting the fight!
What an encouragment. Rev. Wenger points out again and again how God's plan is greater than any we would have imagined. Therefore, we must trust him when life seems to fall apart.
Great Sermon! Ricky said that we think true faith is not sinning - but he went on to say that true faith is what we do after we sin. Peter and Judas both denied Christ but Peter came back because Jesus prayed for him. Ricky keeps pushing us to Jesus and challenging us to trust Him and His love for us. He closed with something I never get tired of hearing - that Jesus always welcomes us back home and eventually we come to love Him and being home with Him so much that we don't run away - or at least not as easily. This sermon reminded me of John Newton - he said (not an exact quote)- I was ashamed when Christ found me, I am more ashamed now, and I expect I will be most ashamed when He comes for me, but I rejoice in this - that He is not ashamed of me.
Not God's Pet We all struggle with believing that God could really love people like us - we think we are God's pets or worse. We find it hard to see Him as our Father who loves us and who delights in showing mercy. Ricky keeps driving this home in his sermons - especially this one. This type preaching could make mean Reformed people like me acutally start to love being around Jesus and love being with other broken sinners. Hell, I might could even want to tell people about a God like this.
