“ Great Sermon! ” How much is enough, Stephen? "Just a little more!" goes the old joke. I can relate to your 'gadget envy,' even though I own a 30-GB Video iPod. I do load it with the SermonAudio MP3 sermons, but I've never thought about this from the standpoint of living a quiet, isolated life ... much food for thought here. THANKS. But from an economics standpoint, we ARE consumers, and I don't have a problem with that term, it certainly doesn't offend my humanity (unless you redefine the term to make it so). In other words, being a consumer is not wrong in and of itself, nor is the label. Sin is the only problem, as when we sin in the area of finances.
There are ways to 'consume' without spending the family's hard-earned money. Making extensive use of the local public library, for instance, is just one way to do this. There are CDs, videos and books that Christians can check out from the library to their heart's content, without spending money that could be used to help the poor or spread the Gospel.
“ Great Sermon! ” well articulated lesson on why we as Christians need to be good stewards of our physical bodies. We use as a discussion assignment with our Christian High School Physical Education students. Thank you and may the Body of Christ learn and apply this truth!

It takes a lot of maturity to be able to "extend grace" to another person, not use the Bible as a hammer on someone and not tear down church members. I especially like the reminder that when husbands and wives don't talk to each other, Satan is pleased. Same is true, Pastor Gambill notes, when church members don't speak to one another and Christians don't speak to God.
Listen to this sermon and pray that God will give you a heart to be able to discern how to speak in a way that brings God the glory.
This balanced approach in this sermon is what's missing in how Christians all-too-often speak to one another!
“ Good Treatment Of Subject ” I'm enjoying listening to this series, which is on my favorite topic, why people believe what they believe. The speaker does an excellent job of presenting complex material in a way that makes it easy for the non-specialist to understand, and shows how important it is to question the assumptions behind your beliefs, and the beliefs of others. Particularly interesting is the numerous times the speaker points out inconsistencies in the beliefs vs. the actions in people who have other worldviews. The only possible drawback is that there is so much material that it's compressed: each topic could be expanded to its own series. The motivated listener might want to give R.C. Sproul's worldview series a listen as well. The two complement each other nicely because they come to the material from different angles.

“ Clears Up Hard To Understand Bible Passages On Baptism ” Definitely worth listening to. You'll get to hear both sides of the issue on whether or not water baptism is necessary for salvation. Stephen Gambill defends the "salvation by faith only" position very well. The Church of Christ is a CULT and baptismal regeneration is a FALSE GOSPEL.
