I was walking while listening to this sermon and there were so many things I was thinking I should write down to remember, so I listened a second time! “ Great Sermon! ” I wanted to take a second to let you know, I can not tell you how much this sermon has helped and blessed me. When going through lengthy trials and when struggling to understand, it can be so difficult. This has brought me such peace. Thank you for your service to the Lord. Blessings.
“ Great comfort in the completed work of Christ ” Christ's great mission for His people is completely accomplished. It is finished!! This is our great comfort.
“ Great Sermon! ” When we pray according to what we know is God's will, we will be broken over our sin(s) and the sins of others. Especially, those who are proud of sinful behavior; boasting without shame; but not without impunity. For God is still "keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty;" (Exod. 34:7). They know not what they do. So we should pray that the light of the glorious gospel will shine into their darkened hearts. After all, all men were created in the image of God, and were created for His glory. However, God will be glorified no matter what. We should pray that he delivers us from stubbornness of heart and laziness and cause us to seek His will for all men, in prayer.
The goodness of God leads us to repentance. He

“ Heart searching dissertation ” The considerations presented deserve attention. Yes, God looks at the heart, while definitively humans cannot. However, here is a small observation to balance the issue.
“Do not judge a book by its cover’ has become a defensive worldly philosophy that has crept into today’s evangelical way of thinking. To some it might even appear totally biblical. Certainly appearances can be deceiving, as pointed in the discourse, and discernment against all pharisaical self-deception is highly recommended.
However, on the other hand, what is in the heart it comes out and it reveals itself. Out of the abundance of the heart not only the mouth speaks, but inner attitudes, and values, or rebellion, become outwardly manifested. In other words, quite often, what one sees outwardly is symptomatic of what goes on inwardly. Surely we should ‘Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.’ John 7: 24. However, ‘Every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.’ Luke 6:44. One of our friends once said, certainly we should not judge by appearances, but there is nothing wrong about ‘fruit inspection’.
“ Great Sermon! ” Great sermon! Your sermon series on how to pray (as well as how not to pray) has been a huge blessing to us. Your teachings will help us greatly in our prayer lives, both together and individually.
