It is consistent with the doctrine of the depravity of man, which includes rulers, Kings and Presidents, that intrigue and conspiracy are common place, and that rulers come to power often by gradual usurpation and craft, and under guise of "justice", and make use of flattering words and "kissing" them warmly, and frequently as "Christian" and "saviors" to "defend freedom", or to "rid the world of tyranny". The churches ought to wake up, and consider David's plight!
