Call to faithfulness. Following the faithful of old, we are called to be faithful to the faith delivered for the saints, in the midst of so many erroneous teachings in our contemporary setting.
Biblical. The sermon is 1 hour long, followed by Q/A session. We must preach a whole Christ to the whole man. We must be honest in our evangelism, as Christ was, telling the people not only their rights in the Christian life, but also their responsibilities and the hardness of it.
Great contrast. A message on apologetic. After a presentation of the message of the Bible, follows a presentation of the presuppositions of Greek and modern philosophy.
Restoration. Here there are 2 messages connected: the first covers the first 6 chapters of the prophecy of Zechariah, the second the rest of the book. The great message of God's forgiveness and restoration.
Bible Translations I am not a "KJV only" individual, but I do hold to the Majority Text of Scripture as the most accurate reflection of the original autographs. Though I think the KJV is the best English translation we have, but I do recognize there are other translations that are cut from the same cloth as good translations as well.
Great difference. Somehow hard to listen to because of the poor sound, but it is worth to listen to. It presents the great difference between Christianity and all secular philosophies.
Faithful to God. The title of the message is taken from the title of a book by Abraham Kuyper. Some Presbyterian churches adopted a new confession of faith, moving away from Scripture and from the legacy of their fathers. The message is a powerful call to be faithful to the old faith.
Great Talk! The story of how Dr. Rushdoony, through his Institutes of Biblical Law and other books, is calling Jurisprudence back to the science of law away from the study of man's imaginings.
Dr. Rushdoony was in the audience when this talk was given.
Dr. Titus is a graduate of Harvard Law school.
Great Sermon! I first heard this series of sermons about twenty years ago and thought they were magnificent. I highly recommend this series to any seekers after the truth.
Sovereign God. Excellent study! Very rich, great biblical argumentation, responses to objections, application of doctrine. God is highly exalted by this doctrine and by the faithful presentation of it!
Well said... This is a very good message. I actually cried when I stopped to think about Tamar and how her life was destroyed by the lust of one man. But not for her alone, but for the countless other Tamar's out there who have been destroyed by men; many of them sadly in the church of Jesus Christ.
Men and woman, both young and old who are considering marriage should listen to this message. I do grieve how myself and those around me have been largely taught about "love" from our sordid culture and not God's word and his principles. Chick-flicks, romance novels, pin-up magazines and more have shaped our world view not only before we have come to Christ but tragically for many even after they come to Christ.
Due to this, and if we are honest, we all still carry a lot of very un-Scriptural baggage that governs our looking for a mate. Messages like this and our purging out of this leaven from our lives and heart will do much for not only those of us blessed to get married, but for the church as a whole and the next generation that follows our example.
Important, Relevant Message! Biblical truth vs Political Correctness 101 during this time of remembering Christian truth on the 150th Anniversary of the so-called Civil War (a precursor to "civil rights" commotions later). God has a social order and the Master-servant relation is justified as much as husband-wife and fathers-children (Colossians, Ephesians, 1 Peter 2), as part of Christian social order for all society, and the Bible instead of abolishing it, establishes, regulates, and enforces the proper relations of each to one another. To say otherwise is to condemn Moses, the law, the prophets, Jesus Christ and the apostles (i.e. the entire holy Bible) of sin, and would render the precious atoning blood of Jesus (who upheld the master-servant relation) as (blasphemously) impure by implication.
What IS sin is the slandering of an entire people or a divine institution, yea God himself by implication, as evil, wicked, and sinful, contrary to God's holy testimony, which is incapable of deceit. As the speaker says, there is no sin of "racism", contrary to Human commandments--a legalistic tradition of men.
Beware of "the fear of men, which bringeth a snare"--i.e. wrongful public opinion that is now in majority, even among professing Christians. Wilberforce and Spurgeon were wrong!
Great Sermon! Dr Dyer, The comment I have is more extensive than can fit on this page. I enjoyed your lesson. I see another possibility for what the verse may mean. If possible I would like to email it to you. Thank you for your time in Christ Timothy HChristfirst@aol.com
