“ Great Sermon! ”
This was my first sermon of today. I always start my day off with my morning prayers and meditations; and afterwards I then come straight to SermonAudio to jumpstart my day by listening to sermons; two or three at the very least. Today I chose to begin my day with this beautiful sermon. I always check to see if the KJV is the Bible that is used in the sermon. If the KJV is not used then I won’t listen. I refuse to listen to any sermon that is not from the KJV! AND the preacher must be preaching it with authority—and NOT worldly opinions of man—but the TRUTH of God’s Word! This particular preacher’s name will be added to my list of my top trusted pastor/preacher/teachers. I very thoroughly appreciate this man of God and how he sticks to God’s truths and Doctrines and it the opinions of false pulpit wolves. Thank you Brother Dr. Brother Allen. Thank you for honoring God’s Word. Blessings to you. Amen

A great blessing indeed in hearing Jabez Rutt, for the first time, recommended to us by Pastor Chalan Hetherington. Have placed it in Facebook for more to hear. Love in Christ, English Rose

“ William Tyndale-Renowned Protestant Reformer ”
Though William Tyndale was a man of renown, he used his renown for the purpose of advancing the wisdom of the Protestant Reformation by translating the Bible into the English language. Of course, William Tyndale is not the only notable Protestant Reformer of England. So was John Wycliffe of the 14th century.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Prior to the Scottish-born monarch James I (James VI) authorizing the translation of the Bible, William Tyndale, a Protestant Reformer, worked on Bible translations in English. When Tyndale was burned at the stake, he said, "Lord, open the King of England's eyes!" These words spoken by William Tyndale prepared Great Britain to adopt the Protestant Reformation.

Sermon:
Plain reasons for using the KJV Today
Rev David Silversides
5
comments
“ Excellent Sermon! ”
In this sermon Pastor Silversides makes an invincible defense of the King James/Authorized Version, clearly showing the superior accuracy and reliability of the KJV over all modern "translations." Furthermore, he demonstrates that the necessity of reliance upon the Received Text of scripture and not upon newly discovered manuscripts is a doctrinal matter which all Christians can understand, regardless of whether or not they have knowledge of the original languages. Finally, Pastor Silversides discusses how the modern versions have only increased the confusion and disunity of today's church. If we may make our own observation, it seems evident to us that we Christians are facing grave dangers as Muslims and Roman Catholics flood into our countries, and that we must be praying and working for unity based on the truth of God's word if we are to stand against the perils we are sure to soon encounter. How can we do this if we can't even agree on what the word of God is? May God lead all of those who have departed from his truth in search of novelties to repentance!

“ Response to Chris Symonds ”
Hello Chris, You may like to look through this book review (link below) which appeared in the TBS Quarterly Record in 2006 and covers some of the matters you raise. http://www.tbsbibles.org/pdf_reports/69-1.pdf#page=51 The choice is ultimately between the Received Text with ecclesiastical pedigree limiting the manuscripts in which the correct reading is to be sought or else a perpetually provisional text based on all the manuscripts available at any given time (and of which we can never know we have reached an end of new discovery).

“ Great Sermon! ”
you do realize that the TR Erasmus, Stephanus and Bezea differ from each other and also the Majority text. They all contain textual variants. The KJV in its original acknowledged in its footnotes that there were many variants. The KJV translators in their original preface did not say that the KJV is the final word. Silverside's sermon is so full of straw man arguments and logical fallacy's that it begs criticism.. His argument is not apologetic in any sense, it is based on erroneous arguments and ignorance. Most critical scholars do not question the authenticity of scripture at all as Silverside suggests. On Westcott and Hort these are not the basis of modern translations at all another inaccurate assertion. Where the received texts is concerned it is made of of 12 manuscripts not including the majority (Bezentyne) text. It is ultimately dangerous to use an internal argument to support the TR only position.

“ Must hear! ”
I am grateful to B. McCausland for pointing us to this sermon. I have to admit that to an American ear, hearing this is not the easiest thing. But, one soon grows accustomed to the rather high pitched voice of the speaker. The content and presentation covers a great deal of ground, hence the length of the sermon. Nevertheless I would encourage everyone who wishes to examine the Bible versions issue to listen to this, because it is quite thorough and the case is built up line upon line to leave no one in any doubt that the modern critical texts are grossly erroneous and that the Byzantine texts, and in particular the Received Texts were the traditional texts of the Churches from the earliest times to the late nineteenth century when they were set aside in favor of the corruptions upon which most modern versions are based.

This sermon was very informative and made a great deal of sense in its application for the contemporary church. I heartily recommend it and also recommend that notes and bible references be made because there's a lot here to be remembered.

“ Good considerations ”
Really, modern translations manifest 'political correctness' tendencies of the day. As an observation, this can be asserted by the rendering of husband and wife instead of man and woman in I Corinthians 11:2-16 by which the teaching can be reduced to matrimonial context instead of universal context; or the variety of animal names rendered in the ESV for each time dragon appears in the AV.
