7:58 Larry Wessels introduces his guest former Roman Catholic Rob Zins (website - https://cwrc-rz.org/ ). Both Larry and Rob talk about their backgrounds, including their lives before being saved by receiving the true gospel of Jesus Christ. See the 16 hour 1990 video series that Rob & Larry began with starting with episode #1 called "Roman Catholicism Series #1: Not Real Christianity But Old Testament Judaism in Disguise" at • Roman Catholicism Series #1: Not Real... . 20:30 Larry reads Deuteronomy 18:9-14 which relates to praying to the dead in various ways.
22:28 Rob discusses what do Roman Catholics really believe. Catholics really believe in praying to the dead & for the dead as well as venerating relics & saints. Catholics believe the dead are alive somewhere else so it's okay to pray to them, talk to them, pray for them & venerate them.
26:38 Rob then reads from the Roman official Council of Trent about prayers and invoking the so-called saints in heaven who then will offer their merits earned on earth to Christ to give to people on earth who might need them for the afterlife. Trent condemns all those who are against these Roman beliefs such as the "Treasury of Merit," "Communion with the dead," "pray for the dead that they may be loosed from their sins," "our prayers helps the dead & makes the dead more effective to help the living"which are still taught as true in current Catholic catechisms which have not changed over time.
