Not all those who were serving God faithfully were following Jesus as the disciples were. Jesus did not condemn this man for casting out devils. We are reminded again that this was a transition time. The Lord Jesus Christ was presenting Himself as the Messiah. He had not yet gone to the cross and shed His blood. He was in the midst of building His church. It was in its infancy. Jesus did not teach the rebellion that is so common among professing Christians today. This man seems to have been honouring the Lord.
