The church today faces a crisis that threatens our corporate witness and compromises the godly living of believers: We have borrowed from the world a too-low a view of our bodies. This may be a surprising claim given how much our world emphasizes bodily pleasure and appearance. But from issues like abortion, to transgenderism, to an out-of-control hook-up culture, it is clear that the world "sees no value in the living human body but places all…worth in the mind or consciousness." And many Christians seem to have a body worldview that is indistinguishable from unbelievers.
But we must not. The command was as counter-cultural then as it is now: "Glorify God in your body" (1 Cor. 6:20). Humans are embodied souls. You can't simply glorify God in your mind, or with your thoughts. You will glorify God in your body or you won't glorify him at all.
