Her husband is a complainer. Nothing is good enough for him. She thinks they have all of the best elements combined to make a perfect life. Looking back through their lives, each has memories of past emotional events that have driven them to make the decisions that impact their present lives. Unfortunately, their perspectives of the ideal life are vastly different from each other. In this message we look at some of the Christian beliefs that help Christian people to uncover this specific trap--ruining relationships because we desire our list of ideals to be met, and if they are not met, we will be unpleasant company until they are. Building a list of ideals upon pleasant memories is dangerous when it develops to this extreme. Rather, Christians cling to the ideal elements of God's eternal agenda. They find intellectual and emotional satisfaction in thinking of the reality of what God has done, is doing, and will do with them. Sacrificing one's personal agenda becomes a smaller thing when doing it to embrace God's glorious agenda.
