This prophecy was written within days of the destruction of Jerusalem by the Chaldeans. The Lord reaffirmed His determination to give Jerusalem into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar, but the king would not die by the sword. The king, then spoke to the people and urged them to release their household slaves. The Lord required them to free them every seven years. They had not done that until now. For some mysterious reason, the Chaldeans withdrew from the siege. The king changed his mind and took the freedom away from the slaves. The Lord argued that the reneged repentance profaned His Name. This message discusses how the Divine Name is profaned.
