This trial that our brother Job was called to endure, was no ordinary trial. It was one of the greatest trials that any man has been called to endure in all of human history. What Job was called to do in this awful situation was to hold fast his integrity when he was repeatedly being attacked by the Devil. He still held fast his integrity in 3 ways that you and I may be called upon to do, as well, at some time or times in our Christian life. 1st – Job held fast his integrity even when it seemed that God was destroying him without a cause. 2nd – He held fast his integrity even when Satan struck him with painful boils all over his body. And 3rd – Job held fast his integrity even when his wife did not show her support for what he was doing. Let us see this afternoon that for any Christian to do this, it will take the grace of Christ upholding them. For this reason, we will think about these things in relation to the remembrance of Christ's death.
