God is My Salvation - Message 6 - Religious Rot - Isaiah 2:5-22. Within the heart of the first prophetic utterance given to us in Isaiah 2-4 we find an appeal for the nation to return to God, to come to Him and walk in His light (presence and truth). This is a call to repentance because while the nation claims to be the people of God they worship and live like they do not know Him. They have turned to the world, embracing worldly values, and worshiping idols that are in fact nothing - representations of the creation that are incapable of hearing or answering the pleas of the people. There is a look at the final consequences of continued idolatry as we catch a glimpse of the final judgment and then are exhorted to cease trusting in fallen men and to cast of all confidence in the flesh.
