This is Lesson-41 from the on going Exposition from the Book of Revelation, the text covered within this lesson is Revelation 18:9-24.
Revelation 17 and 18 show the divine judgments from the Sovereign hand of Almighty God that will befall Babylon. Verses four of chapter 18, God gives a warning to the elect. Just before utter destruction befalls the kingdom; I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. This is the last Sovereign call to evacuate before the final strike unfolds. God will call out His own elect to disentangle themselves from this evil system before it is destroyed.
There are those who say that there are only two certainties in life: death and taxes. This book of the Revelation of the LORD Jesus Christ adds a third and final certainty that is judgment against sin, wickedness and the evil persons and nations for the vindication of the just.
The last and final judgment for the Great Tribulation will reveal both God’s justice and mercy. The condemnation of the wicked exposes the justice of God and the salvation of the just show’s His Sovereign mercy and manifests His divine love in those whom He has chosen.
