In God's kind providence, He has bestowed graciously, enables a righteous and holy –Christlike identity presently (v1). This however, through our union with Christ, 'our future condition set (v2). This is based upon 1) who and what we are presently as "children and beloved of God – (v1 – 2) makes certain 2) what we shall be in future – as children of God. a) we shall be like Him b) we shall see Him just as HE is. And this is our hope.
