This is the beginning of a study of Paul’s first epistle, the epistle to the Church at Thessalonica. This is the first epistle that Paul ever wrote. Thessalonica was a Roman Colony city, right in the heart of the Roman empire, with a rich, long and varied history. Here Paul had brought the Gospel and now is writing to them concerning their lives as believers who are already suffering for their faith in Jesus Christ. In this study we look at Paul’s words concerning the believer’s being called into the Kingdom and glory of God. Not only have we been saved from the penalty of our sinfulness and sin, but our great God has chosen to make us part of His wonderful kingdom and also to bring us into His own marvelous glory. “And can it be that I should gain!!!!”
