When people mistreat us--our bosses, our husbands or wives, other relatives and friends--there are likely steps for us to take in the present, but we must remember that our sovereign God is behind it all, shaping history and each of our individual lives in the way He chooses. Those steps in the present are likely steps that would best lead to our sanctification, which means the steps for some might not be the same steps for others in certain situations, but we must all walk in the peace of knowing that what others may intend for harm, God intends for our good.
