In our study of Paul’s first letter to Timothy, we have reached chapter 3. With the conclusion of Chapter 2 and Paul’s admonition to women that they are not to teach or take authority over a man, you might think that the issues of major contention are over, but you would be wrong. If fact, we are entering an area that has even more debate and is much closer to home. While there are many conservative churches that take 1 Timothy chapter 2 in a literal sense, there is much greater debate in conservative churches over 1 Timothy chapter 3. We will be studying this over the next couple of weeks. We are here to study God’s word to see what He has said.
