Acts 12:25-13:5 – The Solemnity of Ministry – Sermon Outline Intro: The call to Ministry/Church Office is a solemn task & joyous duty when performed well and recognized by the Church properly. Through it the Lord blesses His Church, even as a godly Father leads/blesses his home. Need: See that the Church took this calling and duty with the utmost seriousness and care, acknowledging whom Christ by His Spirit had chosen for various works of ministry. As a result, the Lord blesses the Church. Theme: The Church must take seriously the call and duty of Ministry.
1. Ministers (Prophets and Teachers) in Antioch faithfully fast and pray (13:1-2a) 2. Barnabas and Saul are set apart for the ministry to which the Holy Spirit called them. (2-3) 3. Barnabas and Saul minister by the will of the Holy Spirit, acknowledged by the Church. (4-5)
