Little terror was preached, except what is implied in the doctrines of the entire depravity of the carnal heart — its enmity against God — its deceitful doubting and attempts to avoid the soul-humbling terms of the gospel — the radical defects of the doings of the unregenerate, and the sovereignty of God in the dispensations of his grace.
