For those who have heard Tony's preaching, the three sermons he delivered at the inaugural Herald Society conference in Philadelphia, PA (Sept 26-28, 2013), may be the most intense and emotional sermons he has preached to date. The intensity and emotion builds with each message. Before beginning his final message of the conference, Tony addresses a few important issues that had come up during the conference.
2,700 years ago, Jeremiah prophesied to Israel about God's anger and impending wrath against them, for they had made God's Temple into a den of robbers. 700 years later, Jesus cleared the second Temple of those engaged in commerce as He pronounced the following indictment: “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers.â€
2,000 years later, today's American Evangelicalism is repeating the sins of ancient Israel, while shouting, "The House of the Lord! The House of the Lord! The House of the Lord! We are delivered!"
As Tony closed his sermon in prayer, something truly amazing happened. The Holy Spirit fell upon the place--the fruit of which was a time of weeping and repentance for many of the men present. |
