In our last study we considered the truth expressed in the latter part of verse 10 – “the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.” The Bible is God's standard for judgment – for life, for eternal destiny, and for validating truth. God's assessments are always correct. He always “gets it right.”
These true and righteous judgments produce a comprehensive righteousness in us. They produce righteous character through both justification and sanctification. Furthermore the Word of God must be the starting point for a true worldview. When we agree with God “judgments,” we will see the realities around us through His eyes. This will prove far more fulfilling and satisfying than anything the world has to offer.
The Word of God not only sanctifies – it satisfies! It preserves and it protects. It guides and it guards. It transforms our souls, and it transports our spirits. It rebukes us, and it rewards us. It is infinitely to be desired above our most treasured possession. The question is: “Do we desire it above all?”
