God knows that we will only have joy in life if we are in the center of His will, and He jealously works in our lives to bring us to that place.The Believer needs to realize that our decisions, both good and bad, determine what our destiny will be. We are all in involved in a Nineveh Journey that failure is no option .God is a God of second chances, and victory in our lives is just an obedient step away.The Believer needs to obey God the first time He speaks, realizing that God will not change His mind about His plan for our lives simply because we do not want to obey.Jonah is also a man on the run from his responsibility - to share the message of God's mercy to others. And this is what Jonah is really about - first experiencing God's mercy and then extending God's mercy. And it's just this reason why Jonah shows his stubbornness. For he hates his enemies and does not want to show God's mercy to them.God had commanded Jonah to speak His message to Nineveh, a city that is on the edge of Mosul, Iraq today.God could have used anybody, but He chose to use Jonah.God is intensely interested in this world being saved, and He could use any number of ways to get the job done. But He has chosen to use us!The prophet had finally been humbled to the point of repentance. Now he was to go forth and relaunch his ministry. Jonah's three days and three nights in the fish's stomach pointed to the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.It was through Jonah's three-day experience that he was given a new life and a new beginning.
